There were many day sailing trips from Monterey Harbor to Santa Cruz, Stillwater Cove in Pebble Beach or just out in the Bay.  Honestly, Monterey Bay is my least favorite place to sail.  The seas can be rough with strong winds, and it is usually really cold!

We would take Scaldis out with friends who wanted to sail, and sometimes we would head over to Santa Cruz where the weather is usually warmer and we would spend the night there.

Sometimes we would take Scaldis out on fishing trips and these could be very fun as long as we brought back some kind of catch!  Mostly albacore or salmon.

Most of the time spent in Monterey harbor was getting Scaldis ready for real trips that usually went south to warmer waters.  The haul outs took place in Santa Cruz or Moss Landing.
